Raport from designing and sculpting Mortarion and his bodyguards.It is one of my recent commisions.Irealy like it becouse I have only few "chaos" miniatures in my gallery.

picture 1. is my sketch of mortarion based on GW sketch. I just like define some details for sculpture. I use the same artwork as Samuel.

picture 2. It is my Mortarion - I prepared parts of armour in computer and now placed it on his body. I also add some of rags.

picture 3. This is sketch bodyguard of Mortarion. I will sculpt 7 terminators for his squad.

Why not six as then the squad has a total of seven members and hence is favoured!

7 terminators, one of them is a "free" aspiring champ.
Mortarion could then be attached to such squad

Hmmm, if I recall correctly if he is attached, he is part of the squad and that makes them 7 already..

Death Guard knowledge is a bit rusty though so you might be right...

I did not ask why 7 .

I suppose, that Mortarion would be the independent character. Therefore - he could join the squad, but would a separate slot in the army roster.

Could be, one to look up when I have the time...
