Chest of Colors forum

I really don't know if this is the right section for this. I have tried painting some faces on different models, just to practise skin tones. So all the focus is on the faces, which are done (at least until I get hammered with criticism )

This fellow is 1/16 scale, painted in oils. It's my first time with them, I found them enjoyable, and I am happy with how he turned out.

This model is made up of a few parts off the new Empire sprues. I did the face mixing only red, blue, yellow and white. Second time trying this. I had pictures of the first try, but they are horrible

I'd love criticism. I realize the pictures aren't great (:x) but anything you can say about the tones, technique, anything really, I would really appreciate.

very smooth transition between layers...bravo...highlight are well placed

around the eyes and under the noze;..put some more shadow with blue in your mix to break the tonality of your skin
and more highlight on the top of the cheeks, eyelashes, and to the mouth upper side
something like this, it's not perfect but show you more or less were you have to point out the details

listen to the illusionrip - he mastered arcane knowledge of paintring faces... he probably sold his soul for that but he actyally never complained

Your faces are very good! I really like the contrast and zentihal lighting effect you achieved . The only thing I can suggest is enriching the colors by adding some nuances of other colors in transitions. This will make them look more natural.
