Long time no see, but I'm back - finally :D
After painting a guardian for a friend, I decided I disliked the ornaments on the shoulders and arms and thus filled them with green stuff. I changed the position of one arm and gave him a pointing finger. Now he got a part of his painting done, so I though I could show it to you.
Questions, comments and criticism is always welcome.

There are a few things and highlights I think I will have to fix, but overall I'm quite happy. What do you think?

well the only thing I could advice is shading the golden elements bit more: some washes should work well here :)
besides of that I'd love to turn this jack into scrap thralls!

excellent work on these purples! wow, nice nice! but the gold looks rough and lacks depth for me.
I think Demi's suggestion is the way to go - some thin washes to add depth to the color.

What Demi said about shading the gold a bit more would do good, thinned down Chestnut or Fleshwash springs to mind.

I also like the color combo!

Hm, maybe I should get a light box for pictures. I thought the gold was good. In nature, it is much more like the gold on the edge above his head, going from a mix of tin bitz with glorious gold all the way up to polished gold with silver.
