I've always admired Booby Wongs style of work but i can't achieve the same super smooth colours that he gets. His colours are so bright yet he must have used a dark undercoat to get all the panel lines in. Any hints and tips?

Yes, it's a matter of patience, blending, blending, blending and blending. As long as you keep seeing transitions between the layers of paint, mix the color in between those layers and apply to your mini. And glazes also help. Good luck!
