Ancient Galatan

Today I managed to finish ANCIENT GALATAN...

I used the picture from GW as my inspration. The mini was supposed to by my entry at a painting contest, so I rushed my works but still I didn't finish it in time... so I entered the unfinisghed piece and... utterly lost.

Now I added the ribbons, some details, and the display base.

I know the banner could be highlighted more but I was afraid that any changes to it could only spoil what I already had done...

Uh, just wanted to share.... :)

BTW - before you ask: he lost his arm to an ork warlord, but he eventually slew him. Galatan refused to die before Ultramarines won the battle, and only then he fell dead.

i've checked out the auction page, and it has a couple of good pics, so i'm happy with that

but you're right, the focus is mainly on the banner

is it made out of green stuff?

yep, the banner is greenstuff.. I believe now I would be able to do it better, buit probably wouldn't decide to make anything as big again...

it was a real pain to get it cured in any reasonable shape :(
