hi there here is my wip of my hive tyrant and one of my (meny) carnifexs
and a ogre standard

first the Hive tyrant

to make him i used a new hive tyrant fig (won off ebay) and a badly built (who ever built it loved the plastic glue) carnifex and some lictor claws ( you guessed it off ebay!!!) i cut the top of the carapace off the carnifex and built out of Glotto the bottom pushinh the hivetyrant torso into it so it would stick better also the s talons as well for legs and the tail section of the hive tyrant as photo

left it to dry for the night

then construted the rib like section out of green stuff then it was just a case of putting the head, sword arm tail section and lictor claws as lower claws molding the barbed strangler on i did origanaly put the lash whip you get with the hive tyrant but thought it looked a bit wimpy so cut the lash whip part of the arm off drilled a small hole put a piece of wire in then green stuffed a more hefty one and put a spare chaos marine wrapped up in it sorry for the blurry photo

then used the end of a zoanthrope tail (also off ebay) as the origanal one was to long and bendy

right on to the carnifex i basicly built this using one carnifex box just to see if i could with out using any thing else

id like comments on what you all think ive had different opinions about the colour do you think the body is too bright?

and lastly my orge standard

this guy broke my clippers getting his left arm off he started off as a maneater model i clipped his arm off replaced it with the standard bearer arm then added a extra pole on top from a spare arm i constructed the basic shap from matchsticks and green stuff the plastic disc is from a old compass toy (never throw anything away) and added plasti card teeth to make the maw added a gobbo look out on top and a stolen chaos icon and rotten chaos warrior and a skull standard on the back

then put on a head was missing beard and hair so green stuffed him some

I think that everything here presented looks nice, have always been a fan of tyranids that walk spiders like but the hive tyrant heads look a bit small , yet the whole outcome to my eyes seem magnificent...
the carnifex seems just fine with everything, the colors too, although I my self am planning to paint my future tyranids by the “dipping” method
the ogre seems all right too, the only thing I would add are some ropes that show as that every thing (the chaos guy) wont fall off plus I can’t really see from the picture but the hair looks a bit weird. hard too say

i have heard about this dipping but not sure what it is?
really how does it look wierd?
yeah will defo put some ropes on have been meaning to but nids are a calling

your genestealers (love the clawed fiend one) and the o so funky dioramma have inspired me:)
so has every photo of conversions and paintjobs that have been put on this site so many projects buzzing around in my head at mo i feel it might exploded!!! (but probley wont)
