Waiting for your pics, tkkultist.
In the meantime - there's a really nice review here:

Ok, photos of winning pieces are available!

You have to scroll down a little to find the categories, but they're there! :trampolin:

If you don't look at anything else, look at the face of the winning single figure entry. How she did those eyes...

Da*n cool! Great to see a competition where one is not limited to one manufacturer... And the quality of these minis is very good! Some real gems there!

*sigh* Thanks Demi and Mahon. I just can't seem to get people here to care about the Gen Con Indy painting competition. I just don't get it... Good pics, great entries, some really well known painters, and almost no one has ANY comments about the pics. I keep trying to point out pieces or people that appear at GCI when they're on CMON or such later, but people just don't seem to put the pieces together or something. It's just discouraging and disappointing.

Naah, too many good paintjobs and so different to what we're used to here. I think the overall effect takes away some of the excellence of particular miniatures and paintjobs. At least you can say that America has something to make Europe envious of...

And I was nearly sure I commented on some of the minis. Well, I must've been wrong. I must've simply sent them to Ana :(

@Mahon - just like me. I've not commented here, but posted a lot of pics on WARsztat forum.

@LE - we've talked a bit yesterday about pics from GenCon. so I suppose you know my opinion already :)
Just one more thing - I love Derek Schubert's style. Absolutely amazing painter for me with one of the best colour schemes in the world.

Thanks guys! I feel a little better now. :)

Derek is frighteningly good! He does gorgeous NMM in speed painting competitions. He did a Rackham figure in 45 minutes with only Rackham paints (8 colors maybe?) and two random brushes. It was incredible, and had NMM done very well. And he does really creative stuff with figures a lot of times. (Have you seen what he did at Reaper Con back in May???)

It was really neat to see a competition that had Rackham, GW, Reaper, Croc Games, Freebooter, Hasslefree, Mag Egos, Dark Sword, and I don't know what all other companies represented. It's just so cool to see no manufacturer restrictions on a competition that draws out a large number of the best US painters.

And then to go see cases filled with things painted by Marike, Derek, Anne, Eric Johns, Ritual, Sue W, Noel Meyers and so on is just so awe inspiring and motivating.
