Reaper Master Series Miniatures

Reaper has finally shown models to be released in the Master Series Miniatures. For those who don't know yet - it is supposed to be a line for collectors and painters, rather in bigger than 28mm scales (54mm+). Sculptors are probably not given any strict guidelines - they can sculpt what they want.
First two models are both females in 54mm scale. Surprise, surprise ;)
What else would you expect to get from Reaper ;)

I'm not very impressed by Van Horne's Queen of the Jungle. It's nice, but nothing special:

However this sci-fi babe by Van Schaik is awesome! One of the best sculpts I've seen in a while.

I like the idea of quite developed bases, making for a small diorama.
I don't have any info yet regarding the price of MSM.

WOW to the sculpt on the bottom!!! Realistic pose, great setting and weapon that the sculptor is not using as a penis substitute. Is it me or are the latest reaper models (esp DH line) just getting better and better.

remark about the weapon made me laugh :)

Reaper's DHL 2800 and 2900 lines were great. Lots of good fantasy style models - not as classic as some of their releases, not as fancy as confrontation. Then they had some problems with 3000 line - bad sculpts or stuff interesting only for D&D gamers. As you hav noticed - they are back on tracks now :)

I like both, but the second one better :) The cat on the first one could be better.

The big pussycat doens't look right to me at all. THe head is off, and like dragyn pointed out, the paws and legs are strange. I'm not a fan of the female either.

Now the second one I like. I don't think it's great, but it's going into the right direction ;)

In the first post, the lady's claw-like hands, and her legs just seem to be off from me, as what I would expect from a big mini manufacturer.

The second one, the model is ok, but I dun like the diorma given. I mean it is nothing really stunning or special. Then the painter may want to do his / her own special base or diorma.

As a "master" series, I am not impressed at all.

:lolsign: yeah, if you ignore that whole "I'm in a serious combat situation with my entire midriff completely bare" thing...

1. is her bare midriff anyhow connected with her pose?
2. I agree, that bare midriffs are not very wise or realistic, but...
3. ...I don't care  this is sf (or usually fantasy). Wanna realism? Get Pegaso or Andrea historic stuff. The sculpting process is usually preceded by scientific/historic research there :D
