Vyper/Nidahu Fireheart

OK so thinking of playing a lot for GD2006, the original concept it to take a GW Eldar vyper, and paint it with snake cales (orangy brown).
paint eh scales onthe top 2 sections fo the canopy and use the side sections as eyes, possibly even get carried away and ember LEDs within the cockpit. Have the 2 front prongs as and area for the fangs, with me so far?

OK the "wings" I am considering doing the snake sale but a little worried they extend too wide and would spoil the look,

Equally the gun platform is too fidly to take a snake scale patern and continue the look so considered doing Nidahu Fireheart - the Saim Hann Specail character, which will require removing the gun platform and replacing ti with an eldar style mini with a lance, - considering using a small flying base for the platform, and probably a standard eldar guardian for the basic mini with a wood elf head and DIY lance/spear

Also going to mount it on a CD, then would very much like to do a water base with spray "Waves" comming up behind the wing tips, as to how to do this, probably considerign moulding realistic water, into milliput, any thoughts on lubricants?

Anyway thoughts please gents/ladies/other life forms????

Why don't you paint the wings as membranes or leathery wings? The project seems to be very promising, but also very demanding...

I'd use resin for water and apply it with thin layers to create the effect of ripples or waves...
I think several other users here haver more experience with water bases and hpefully they will be willing to share their tips :)

Cheers Mahon, will look into resin at lunch time today.

Seen some vypers, and in fact an entire eldar army done with red scales on the GW site, but not realyl what I am after, his wings were done partly with scales but it faded out

I'm not really familiar with the vyper. But it sounds very promising.

On the water: Woodlands scenics realistic watereffects. You can create waves, splashing water, etc with this stuff. It takes a bit patience though. Downside is that it's not cheap. Between 25 - 30? for a bottle around here.

Illusionrip does some great effects with andrea water resin I believe, so you might ask him about that :)

And good luck with the project :)

I believe I saw something done very similar to what you want to do before with the Eldar Jetbike/Viper. I'll see if I can find it somewhere.

Here is one with a water effect on a highly modified Vyper

https://www.coolminiornot.com/70272

And here is another one though with a lava effect instead of water

Skrit's comment reminded me of them and I remembered someone else in the eldaronline forum had asked about them.

Hope they help.

OK ye ignoring the paint job on the first one, the water is raised, great, but I am after a ratehr more claen sheet of raised water implying much more speed, perhaps I can make a mould and simply fill with realistic water.

Reverted to a standard vyper rather than Nidahu, I think, having seen some stuff at i think games day atlanta I can get snake scaling onto the gun platform.

Thanks for the help guys
