new nurgle knight - 3d update

Post by Mordred »

heya,
I'm working on the next nurgle knight for my unit of 5.

still very wip, but I will post a large update later today if possible.

the horse and barding will be 'nurgled up' with scratches, colour variations and ooze dripping from crack in the armour. the reason I post this is that I want to know from you guys if the painting standard is high enough. I want to enter a unit of these in the golden demon and I don't want to leave any mistakes, so if you spot ANY flaws on the model so far please tell me !

Looks like you're off to a good start, but I would make the shading on the armour deeper before adding more scratches etc. IMO it looks flat. Deeper shading also for the piece of cloth under the barding.
Highlights and contrast on the horse itself is good, but not wow. I think that the planned color variations will take care of this.

Oh, there is a rough spot where the horse's neck meets the armour.

Cool ,next nurgle knight, i like nurgle knight that you made before. So I will keep an eye on this. For now I agree with ToMaz. I know there will be few scratches, but Maybe also give some more rust on the barding.
Cheers

A whole unit huh?! That must look incredible when finished! Do I see a possible entry for the GD here? 8)

For a unit it would be excellent. For a single mini it looks too "flat" as Demi called it, I would call it "plastic" or unnatural. Not convincing enough maybe...

it is supposed to be a unit of 5 for the german gd ( if I can get there that is )

I have a pretty big update on the model ready but I can't upload it on my msn space because it doesn't work properly these days ... any alternatives?

update #1 :

the pose looks a little off balance, but that's mainly because of the angle of the picture. Also there will be a little nurgling between the horses legs that balances the whole piece imho.

There is still a lot of work to do on this fellah, but this gives a good idea of the painting / blending standard I intend to keep for the entie unit. Comments are appreciated !
