I quite like them. I however have few "buts", which are resulting from 40k rules. Still, those rules influence somehow the look of models.
1/ I hate the idea of sniper unit... All army's snipers bundled in one location??? Same for eldar rangers.
2/ Snipers with heavy armour?
3/ Sniper with missile launcher?

well they are firstly a space marine scout unit so have weapon flexibility of SM units and Armour... but i understand what your saying like how can scouts snipers be silent if the rocket guy is giving away their position with rocket lancher noise...

Now, you have to remember that all snipers are close to each other. One barrage later... big hole, no snipers.
I'm not a fanatic of realism in 40k, I don't mind yellow marines fighting blue-red eldars. However, that matter is disturbing for me
Good point about the weird combination of weapons. Maybe the sniper rifles aren't there for stealth but for their accuracy? Well, anyway it's strange
40K doesn't take much of concealment/ambushing/surprise into account so snipers work a bit strange. I would rather treat them as marksmen...
The only snipers which were reasonably represented in the rules were the Catachan solo snipers IMHO.

Just remember that tactics in 40K don't have much in common with modern reallife tactics....Nameless wrote:Exactly
