Hm, I think this one is well painted but... very, very boring... I mean, no colors like Blue, Red, Green... hmhm...
I dislike the base, it´s too static... and grey...
The wood is okay, very nice... I like Brown wood...

Mmm this mini was originally painted for a community army which was then to be auctioned on e-bay and the proceeds going to the red cross, this has yet to be done, however the base was painted within the guidelines agreed with the other members of the scheme. This is after all a wargames piece, the idea was that the army was themed around the defence of Osgiliath the ancient city uponthe banks of the Anduin in Middle Earth. Anyway with that in mind I had to make the base for such a large mini that would fit with that theme.
As for lack of colour I think you miss the point or do not know your Tolkien very well. soldiers of Minas Tirith of the Third Age wore Silver Armour and chainmail over black undergarments even the boots and gloves were black and this is described by Tolkien and also portrayed in the Return of the King movie so to add colours like red and blue would not be inkeeping with the theme of Tolkiens works.
I changed the colours of the gloves and boots to try and give a little different colour without straying too far away from the imagery of the story.
I am sorry you do not like it but then it does not pay for us all to be the same, like I said I hated every minute of making this model but I am pleased with the final result.
