... JustanotherArtist

Im 23 and live in germany.
Im painting models since 7 years, since 1 1/2 on a "high" level and im here, coz im sick of comments like: OMG, your GODLIKE and these bullsh... ;)

I know im not bad, but i also know im miles aways from beeing an expert and i guess ill get a correct rating in this forum and last but not least im allways on the hunt for new inspirations and "painting-skill".

Cheers, for a nice time in this forum

P.S.: This forum is completly different from all others i know. Need to get fit with all the "strang" and (for me) hidden features here :D

Hi JustAnotherArtist! Welcome to CofC. :)

And don't worry about getting too used to things just yet. Mahon's working on upgrades and not everything is finished just yet. ;)

lol :P

I feel like a newbie, when i have a look at some of ana´s minis, for example ;)
Just dislike (dislike is too much/harsh but my english ... ) the lifeless/glaze style, but they´re amazing anyway.
My grandpa told me tin models have a soul, or better when you paint them, you´ll give them one, if you´re "good". Dang, i need more words :D good is totally wrong. Whatever, what i want to say is: i allways try to give my "tins"
a soul.
"Ok, enough for now, much to learn there is, young padawan" *aaahhh the voice again* :D

See ya arround and thanks for the friendly welcome

Hello JustanotherArtist :)

I am glad you like our little place. Feel at home here, and I hope you will stay with us for some time. I am sorry I ain't as active as I used to be, but the beginning of the year means much work to me at my fulltime job, and the fact I am upgrading the site now keeps me a bit busy, too.

OTOH you should have some new features soon, or the oldies-but-goodies working again. :D
Secret features you say? Hah, there must be many ;) But honestly speaking you don't need them all to navigate the site and to spend time in our little community. If you need any help, I believe that any of the mods is experienced enough to help you. They are all hardcore members of our little group :) And you can always contact me if you don't mind waiting for the answer :)

As for giving minis souls, I believe you are right. I also try to give my miniatures some souls, some lives. I can't say I always succeed. But I agree that technical abilities are not all, you also need to feel that what you do. Well, I think it's what is called 'style'... ;) Your way of expressing what the mini is in your opinion - even if you're minis are a bit lacking in their technical perfection, they can have the 'thing' which makes them cool.

As for Ana's minis - I wonder if you're right with her glaze style. You may be... :D If you only told us more. Or maybe she could explain if she really glazes her minis :)
