RE: GW does it again: price changes
Bad news indeed. GW isn't going very well (according to various sources) but to do another price raise again isn't the way to go Imho...
Trying to lift their financial crisis on the backs of their customers each time is going to work against them one of these days I believe. I'm no expert but maybe they should look into (if they haven't already ofcourse!) their company. Look at what divisions could be merged for example or which are redundant. (these could be higher management sections or even stores that aren't doing well...)
But again I'm no expert and a company like GW must surely know how run their own business! (;))

Not totally unsurprising that this was coming, their profits are way down and they are blaming it on the lack of interest on LOTR but I think the company is suffereing generally from aiming its business more and more at youngsters. Also the internet and all the different manufacturers that can be accessed on it must be having a big impact, people are beginning to see that good quality minis and good games systems at decent prices can be got elsewhere these days.
A to znalazlem na Cytadeli.pl :

For foreigners: according to chief of one of the biggest mianiature shops on the polish Internet, those price changes will affect only UK not Poland.

If I look at the items that become more expensive, I notice something: These are things (except for the paint), that you nearly only get from GW. There are few if any other manufacturers producing good quality, same scale vehicles. So these are things people have to buy from GW.
As far as the paints are concerned I think the kiddies will carry this increase. Most of us "older" guys tend to use other colours anyway, but the kids buy them as if they were the one and only (See Master painting set...).
So it's nothing that really bothers me.

I can't say I'm very bothered by this. first of all it's pure logic ... people keep buying their crap so they keep increasing prices. I would do the same
second the prices of oil and other resources needed to produce plastic are taking such a high flight that this is a natural consequence. and ofcourse prices go up in every part of the economy, so why not the miniatures industry. I stopped buying their models years ago, they lost me some prices increases ago. if everyone just does the same, they will lower their prices or go bankrupt, I don't really give a hoot. I have my armies assembled and the current ruleset for warhammer is just fine the way it is ^^
