Nice job indeed. I like the base and the sign post is a nice touch.

I agree with you, this is your best work so far!:)

(The tail looks much better now too.)

Only thing which is strange with me is the name on the waysign. Altdo (short for Altdorf) isn't very clear Imho... Next time pick a shorter name maybe!;)

The paintjob is solid, seems really to be your best do far. As far as I can see from these pictures, I would have liked to see closer pictures, too, eg only the figure, without the base. A close up on the blade would be interesting too, it looks pretty good, too.

The color choice is pretty sick, as it should be :-) I don't like this vomit brown you used for the armour plates on the horse, though. It is a sick color, it also fits in a way, hard to get a grip on why... And the pinky stuff flowing out from a hole on it. I can't imagine from where such pink stuff would flow, but that might be a problem in me, I'm not a Nurgle worshipper :-).

'Altdo' is indeed a bit strange, the sign doesn't seem to be broken in half. A corner is missing, but I doubt 'rf' would have fit on it :-).

Ok, enough nitpicking, overall he is a great job, will be a nice member of your display cabinet team :-)

you did a fantastic job on the face! and the armour and blade is really slick too! And the base! Well, its a great paintjob over all! The bird I'm not too fond off. The beak is great. The feathers I din't quite like, can't really place why though :?

Good Paint Job. I really like the face and the base. Other fellows already covered some other issues in my mind. :D Haha, I hope my this comment is not one of those , "O, great job." That is it type of thing. Hope not disappointing you.

thanks for comments ! I wanted to post sooner but I could never properly log in to the site which was annoying me a little bit :)

for those who have requested them, I have taken some pictures without the base, so they are better to judge the painting level. I'm actually very pleased that when I am comparing the pictures myself, I don't think that the closer shots reveal many flaws in blending or technique, I think some areas are actually better viewed from close range. without giving myself too much credit I think it's something to be proud of ^^

fatboglin : the bird was a first timer, I had never painted birds or anything before. But I think if you view the mini from the top ( so you can see the wings and the tail and the back of the feathers ) you would like it more. Now that I look at the pictures I see it looks abit flat from the side. ( allthough I highlighted up to pure white :s )

well anyway, many thanks for the comments, they have been really helpful.

Looks good, Mordred, and it's one of your coolest works. The rider looks excellent, even though I wouldn't choose blue as the color for him. Or I would add several washes or glazes of colors of rot. Maybe some browns, oranges, purples, greens, reds...
I would also highlight the lower edge of the barding a bit more to make it look a bit sharper and weatered...

You are right Mordred, the closer pictures didn't reveal any flaws or similar. Still it is nice to have a closer look on him, thanks for the pictures :).
