Dirz sentinel WIP

Post by ToMaZ »

Heya,

Here's my first dirz. Painted in metallics because I wnat them to see the table soon, and I dont have the courage/skill yet to paint all that armour in nmm. I think I need to highlight the cloth a more (judging from the pic) and smoothen the metallics on the sword. And then all is left are the final details and some freehand.
Oh and I'm experimenting with photoshop a bit, that's why I added a background
And ignore the cathair on the base ;)

On his chest armour it looks almost as if it has green glow about it. Is that intentional or because of the photo because I think it looks really cool!

The robes have very much space on them and maybe a little freehand would be nice... (swirls maybe?)

the greenish shine is intentional. I glazed the armour a couple of times with a very diluted snot green.

and about the freehand:

I like it - it's nice to finally see a rackham mini painted not in nmm
smooth clothes are cool (even without any freehands) just like a chess pattern; I must try sth similiar on any of my minis... looks so effective...
have You concidered adding some rust on the armour?

I don't really think rust will suit this mini. I tried for a really clean armour, would be a bit of a wast if a would rust it ;) maybe some weathering in the deepest areas, but I'm not sure yet.

And thanx ^^
