Long-suffering Demon Prince

Post by mahon »

Why long-suffering? I started this mini in June and finished in... November. Isn't this long enough to call him this way? ;)

In the meantime I got nearly absolutely distracted from painting minis, and I must admit I nearly quit painting at all because of this mini.

I wanted to use a bit brighter colors than I usually do, and experiment a bit with washing and glazing as a way of achieving this sich look of skin. Anyway, now you can see it and comment (if you wish).

Whatever you say, I will be happy anyway because it means I am painting again :)

Chest of colors liiiiiivvveeees

great work Mahon. It nice to see something from your hand again. I love the skintone allthough I think the bg hand could use a bit more contrast. And I spotted a moldline on his thumb I think
The Armour looks cool. Nice purple, good contrast and a nice change between legs and torso. I really like the shoulderpads.
And I simply love the sword.

Good job man!!

honestly - yes, it's a moldline  but as I realised it was there too late, I decided to keep it an paint it like a cut in the hand's skin...
as for the sword - It looks much flatter than it was before flat-varnishing :( I kinda wish it hadn't lost the shading built along the blade. Well, what can I help now... :?

I am glad I have actually painted ANYTHING and now I'll be moving to Hasslefree minis and some historical stuff for some time :)

I have nothing to comment besides that I like it very much!:) The only thing I don't like is the base but I'm not sure if that's finished yet...

Nice to see You are painitg again. I like it a lot. Everything is cool. I like especially horns, they are very realistic to me.

Great mini, even if it did take a long time to finish(i am in the same boat, its been months and i have very little to show) I really like the sickly skintone maybe a bit more contrast as tomaz said. The horns are super, and i like the two tone color choice.
