Green Stuff and stripping paint?

If you have used Green Stuff on a mini and you totally screwed the paintjob, can you throw it in the paint stripper or will the GS go bye bye?

Thanks,

Tim.

well, I found out that if you throw them in the brake fluid, just long enough to get the paint off, your GS will remain the same. If you leave them in longer, your GS can be separated from the mini, it won't melt or anything like that... it'll just come off. I think you can just glue it on again.

really? what is brake fluid? like WD40?

How long do you reckon Tomas? (does aceton do the trick too?)

I'd be more careful with the acetone since its a pretty strong solvent. Someone else may have tried and had success with acetone, but I know it dissolves stuff pretty well.

Aceton melts plastic. And it does it really fast. I had a new bottle of aceton recently, and I held a metal mini at the base while dipping him in the product... the fumes coming of the aceton started melting the base... So no plastic in aceton unless you want to sculpt yourself a new spawn out of plastics...

And the brake fluid... I don't really know how long, I guess you just need to keep an eye on it. At the moment I have some brake fluid that really sucks. It doesn't even remove the paint, when I got some brake fluid from a car mechanic, it removed the paint in 24 hours.

I'd say, drop them in the fluid in the morning, check it in the evening, if the paint's still on, throw them back for a bit. that way you can keep an eye on your GS, cause I don't really know how long it takes for the GS to come off.

But the aceton is too dangerous for GS too then? (it is no plastic right?)

Old thread O.O
been away for ages.
Fast easy safer way I have found, since moving to Sweden to live with my Girlfriend, I have found a common Eco Friendly Soap (household cleaner)
Swedish name is
'' Gron Sapa, Allrengoringsmedel ''

- Green Soap all purpose cleaner ( I think, my girlfriend isn't at hand to translate for me lol )

Leave the models in for a few hours or so, then rub / brush(hard toothbrush etc) the paint off, will take the model down to the original plastic so you'll need to prime again.
Be careful as sometimes the glue can also come undone.
But so far works great for me and smells like Pinecones xD
