Anyone familiar with the zenithal (if that is the word?) priming? It's the technique where you first undercoat a mini with black and then dust it with white. (or so I believe)
Could you tell me some more about it and how is the best way to do it? What are the advantages? Etc...
Thanks!:)

I read an article about it somewhere and it looked really ok - after priming You have shading job done;
maybe it was in cmon's article section?

i'm using this undercoating technics but with grey and white....you have a better control of your shadings and hilightings when you want to paint your minis with zenithal painting (it used to be done like sun rays came on the top of your minis and make sharpen shadows and bright hilights)it

somewhere in the on that page is it explained with pics. I did it once, can't say that I noticed a real difference while painting. Ok you know where you can highlight, and where the strongest highlights should be. But you can also see that if you use a strong light on a mini before priming and take a pic IMO.
Plus since I'm a student I'm a cheap bastard, and I don't want to pay extra on spraycans ^^

ok but a black undercoat and a white undercoat change at all the tones and the saturation of first paint apply and highlights
