plastic is easier to prepare/convert.
for gamers - metal multi-part mini will break more easily after dropping to floor.
price is also justified to some extent with all the additional bits you get on sprues with minis. but it is of course true that GW is not the cheapest option around

I used to be against plastic years ago too but that was when the quality wasn't that good! Nowadays I almost prefer plastic, especially for converting and big armies.

I agree with Skrit, these days i prefer plastics over metal because i've started to convert my armies/forces a bit more and they are easier to handle. Oh and their preparation time is alot less than metal ones in general.

I agree that it is a benefit to get so many extra parts and stuff, but if you drop a plastic mini ist gone forever, metal can at least be fixed.
I never paint armies. Maybe its better to just glue everything together, I assume with plastic models no pinning is needed at all, right?
Anyways, I will give the trolls a try and see if I can get over my plastic allergy.

quite the opposite, I'd say.

I prefer metal minis, but both metal and plastic have pros and cons

it took me long time to start appreciating plastic but now I equally like both

agreed with demi! at first I couldn`t stand plastic comand group, but now they are so easy to convert!

Metal all the way baby. Easy to mod with putty. Can use tools and not worry as much about breakage. I love the feel of weight of a metal mini.
