Hellspawn's Salamanders
Re: Hellspawn's Salamanders
I like where this is going
now you could just highlight the edges and darken the shadows and you will be home
sre you thinking about giving it some battle damage or weathering?

Regarding the edge highlight, yeah, it's in the pipe. Darken the shadown, not so much as I don't really want it to be too dark but since I'll probably add some dirt, it might probably darken the shadows a bit.
So this answers a bit on "will I do some weathering and battledamage" cause I'll prolly only do the dirt as a)I'm not super fan of battledamage b)I tried to do battledamage on my Cryx Slayer and I was a bit disapointed on the results

Re: Hellspawn's Salamanders
Plan is to have:

- - The exhaust pipes in metal (not only the top of the pipes, but also the parts on the side with the grid),
- Salamander head on side and on front will be white,
- The lightning bolt (behind the salamander head on the front) and the flames on the door will be white aswell,
- The circle around the Salamander head will be grey,
- The Star in the circle (not really visible on the photo) behind the Salamander head will be of the color of the unit.
Re: Hellspawn's Salamanders
So, as I was saying in previous post, here is what it looks on the tank:

The metal on the pipes havent been worked so it's just boltgun metal as for the circle around the Salamander's head which is just fortress grey.
They'll both receive some washes and highlights
The Salamander's head will receive a wash and some highlights aswell

So far so good
Will there be flames painted on black elements?

Prolly not, I'm not super fan of those, plus they're not easily painted (or I suck too much
Re: Hellspawn's Salamanders
So, after a bit of reflexion (and some internet browsing of course), I think I'll prolly do a little bit of modifications.
Think I'll go for a colored ring around the Salamander's head instead of a stone grey one. Color will be of the unit and the little Star (which isn't that visible on pics) behind the Salamander's head will be grey
As for the flames on the other side door, I'll prolly do them in color to stay in the same color scheme than the shoulderpads of the marines.
