Nav - where do you see 'quantity' in AoW line?
I don't feel that AoW minis are just copies (or improved copies) of GW miniatures. As I see it, there are companies exploring standard fantasy settings (gw, reaper) and companies exploring new, less popular areas of fantasy imagination (wyrd, helldorado). AoW belongs to the first group, and it's obvious that their releases will resemble something that we already saw somwhere.
If that's your opinion, I'm curious of your thoughts about Dark Sword Miniatures. They use existing artwork to sculpt very stereothypical minis in classic style (late Dennis Mize, but not only him). Nothing innovative here.

Like Phil and Mahon said, medieval fantasy has a certain imagery. And AoW produces classic fantasy figs that follows that imagery. Human(oid) heroes, Greenskins and beasts and I think they do a good job at it.
Sure they aren't original conceptwise or maybe even in terms of sculpting, but they ARE better than 90% of the figs in the same category.

IMO, the minis released so far by AoW are the miniatures that the GW heroes are supposed to look like. With that I also want to say that they clearly take GW concepts and target their buyers.

I do think that in the future they will steer away from the obvious GW line, because you can't expect to evolve if you keep working leeching on the concepts of other companies.

@Nameless - I like Tom Meier's sculpts from Dark Sword Miniatures. Don't care much for the others. But I ain't Navarro

agreed. they're what GW should do. if they don't - they leave the gap in the market.

Quantity as per: same concept done hundred of times before... not quantity: for the amount of minis this company produced (but if you want analize it, 100% of their minis are just gw clones)... and i was refering to more than just this company... "I do espect more creativity from all companies."

Theres no doubts this is just some fancy heros to complete your GW WFB armies heroes... GW is big enough theres no need for more mirrors.
Personally i think these are not general enough and quite close to GW IP... no matter how well sculpted they are ( some are nice others are just plain average).

Dark Sword Miniatures your comparing completly diferent things... classical style based on classic artists is quite diferent from Aow style based on GW style.

Sure thing mate, and i dont mind sharing it... Dark Sword Miniatures have interesting things but i dont see them on my private collection anytime soon... the range goes from awesome minis to mediocre ones, but you cant deny, at least i cant, they do have their own fresh style, even if based on classical expressions.

Seriously i think you summed it up perfectly like a real bug... leeching is the word of order and i dont apreciate it when i see it... I do hope they steer away too mate, if not, no eurocent from me...

i wanted to quote that too. guess that's the main point of concern here.
