Ok this is very nearly done, I have two more Gondorians (one of them almost complete) to finish and add to the base. I've dropped the idea of adding a couple of rangers as space is starting to become a bit of a problem, I am thinking of adding Denethor to the base though just walking under the ruined arch but we will see. A couple of definate additions will be a couple of dead Orcs.

Like I said very nearly done, I'm still not sure about entering into GD, I could enter the diorama category and I can't find anything in the rules that I've looked at so far about the legality of the base, I'm tempted but not sure.

Enter it! I doubt they'll know about the base!

The dead Orcs sound good, maybe a suggestion... What about weahering the building a bit more? It looks a bit clean to me. Maybe some alge (sp?) on the lower side or maybe some mud? (or even where a dead Orc is lying some blood against the wall. (where he slided against when going to the ground. Made sense?)

looks great Tim. You did a splendid job on this one so far. The orcs would be a nice touch, and as Skrit said, weathering on the ruins would make it look even better :)

Thanks for the comments guys, I have yet to paint a ladder for Boromir's access to the platform though I'm struggling to find one in the right scale, the weathering of the walls is something that I've been thinking about, I may add some greeny brown washes to the lower parts. I like the idea of orc blood, this may not come off though as in Tolkiens stories Orc Blood is black mmmmm I'll give it some serious thought though.

D*mn cool diorama! I'd paint the walls a bit more weathered - maybe with some stains, streaks made by running rain, and some greenish colors to resemble moss or something like this.

Thanks again for the comments guys, I think I will be weathering the walls a little more, but I may not be able to do the dead orcs as there don't seem to be the right ones in the LOTR range that are suitable. Anyway for the last day or so I've had a change from painting Gondorians andhave painted nearly to completion an Elf Warrior from the plastic Warriors of Middle Earth range. This is for another article that has been requested for a LOTR dedicated website. Here is the mini as it is at the moment.

I apologise for the face the cast was poor on this one, and also the over shiny sword blade as that is the light source playing havoc with the camera. All that is left is the weapon and gauntlets and to do a little base. Then its back to the Boromir diorama to hopefully get it finished for GD.

Cheers Tim.
