quick research:
kingdom death - 20-25$ (limited atm, some additions like big box or print of artwork which personally I don't need)
mcvey studio - 18$ (limited)
red box games - 6-9$
SMM - 5-9$
fenryll - different price, let's assume up to 10$.

you don't need, but others may appreciate.
and just as I thought - the price is not outrageous for limited edition...

limited my ass :)
mcvey - 750 minis.
KD - not sure how many in initial releases, but they want to release unlimited versions afterwards.
if you want them, you will get them. It seems that limited minis like these (or GD minis) are more popular than standard releases, and seen more frequently on CMON :)
Limited is just a key word to grab customers' attention. IMO "limited" minis are overpriced (2-4 times pricier than standard minis).

sure!

but that's something collectors like. I don't need a limited version, so I can easily wait for a regular unlimited release :)

750 releases? I'm with Nameless. Just a gimmick to raise the price.

The big secret is that it is NOT at all common to sell 300 copies of a figure ANY figure unless you are GW or maybe AOW, UNLESS you call it " limited ". That in and of itself raises the sales of any given figure. This is a GREAT piece of work no doubt and is worth whatever people will pay for it, but the whole " limited Edition " thing is just smoke and mirrors... or maybe I have no idea what I am talking about and I am the one who just can't sell more than 200 or 300 of any given figure.

Watch CMON's limited editions ( which actually ARE limited to low numbers ) they typically take a while to sell through 300, and a lot of their stuff is done by the best of the industry.

And that even takes into account people like me who are known to buy multiples of limited edition minis so that I can screw them up a few times and still have fresh ones to paint. Or pretend to do that. For me, I end up with multiples that I'll likely never paint, but it's nice to have them just in case.
