The rings came out nice. Good job!
You know what the problem is with this sculpt, the top is so crowded with mechanika and armour plastes and the lower part is so boring that it's pretty hard to make it look spectacular. Really so with your painting style.
All in all I think you did a decent job on a difficult mini. I bet that the next one will be better

I corrected it a bit today anyway - it's more than I need for getting better rolls while gaming

Me: Butcher, wardog, kodiak, spriggan, berserker, full winterguard with UA and kovnik joe, widowmakers and a manhunter.
Opponent: Skorne with Hexeris, Bronzeback titan, rhinodon, full praetorians, full arcuari? (with the harpoons), Venator cannon, a void spirit, an ancestral solo and another solo I had never seen before.
I used the WG as a sacrificial tarpit against the titan and arcuari. They provided very usefull as I made a ton of tough rolls

The void spirit is a mean SOB if you don't have magical weapons btw. Took out a lot of WG in the end. Preatorians got trampled and steamed by the spriggan and kodiak and they got into melee with the rhinodon. Berserker was taken out. Butcher charged and killed the bronzeback, took a slight beating in return from the arcuari, he survived and found it's way to hexeris with a bit of help from the wardog. Hexeris went down in two blows. Would have been one if he couldn't transfer

pretty cool job, Demi. really.
as I said many times - this is not a good sculpt. ToMaZ nailed it very well - the top is so crowded with small details and the robe is so flat and boring that the model simply CANNOT look good. I believe you simply needed it for gaming because why would you choose such a model for painting? without some spectacular freehand on the robe (that is simply begging for one) it cannot look balanced.
and I think my favorite part of this mini is how you painted the robe - the rings really look cool here. I think they add more to your paintjob than to Fluffy's.
unfortunately the top looks even busier with your dirty metallic paintjob - there's so much going on: reflections of light, dirt, rust... add all the details of the sculpt and you have really busy top there.
well done, mate, now move on to better sculpts

thanks!
unfortunately there are 2 more really bad sculpts to deal with: bad sculpts = monster on the battlefield...

was experimenting with new bg: despite EV was set on -2 (it's the min value I can get) the model is still kinda shiny

maybe I should put another filter on a lamp or move if away from the photo tent?
