But with painters like Razza and Brokenblade, they do have the in-house talent to achieve these effects.

Razza:

Just saying... they could very well be real :P

I think they are real. They'll no doubt be showing the models at conventions, Warhammer World and in battle reports and no cheating possible there...

@Navarro - when you look at it carefully you can easily suspect it of being photoshopped ^^ good find!

Of course they have enough talented painters. But there's also economic element involved: time, price, schedules, etc. I'm not saying these are not real, no way. I am only saying I don't know because they are photos of products and it would be acceptable to have them photoshopped. If they were photos of paintjobs, my opinion would be quite different...

well, i dont think theres much need for discussion, wheter or not. fact is: GW admited they are using PS for box designs, both effects and obviously blending-enhancing and since most of them look like box arts, there is your answer.

however i personally still need better pics to make my final judgement.

It turns out, that every new WFB release gets now a new unit (goblins- skullkers) and a big monster (skaven - abomination, orac - spider). Good decision, only execution could be better ;)

would I be called heretic if I said that I don't really care if a company (any) uses software to present their products?
CMON, hobby forums, contests - sure thing, no software allowed! but manufacturer's marketing? I want a good presentation, I don't care for their tools. if they are not adding to the sculpt, correcting it - let them paint with photoshop.

as for new releases - are they changing the game into monsterhammer? I suppose those big kits must be bestsellers if they follow that path :)
I quite like the skeleton unit.

no, I won't call you a heretic, because my opinion is very similar.
it's just presentation of product (which comes unpainted) and not showcase of painting skills

why I mentioned my doubts is because I am impressed with the good presentation of their new products, and if these really are paintjobs - they really put much effort into painting their releases!
