spam time - this time it's something from dirz alchemists instead of necro-dwarfs: aberration (thanks Navarro!)
I wanted to paint this piece for a long time and give it proper paintjob - such a brilliant sculpt deserves for more than just tt quality;
unfortunately after I took photos and assembled them last evening I realised the thing isn't finished so it's placed in wip section;
I know I have to make rust darker, I am also considering adding some gore - like betweek mechano-skeleton and flesh and maybe some dripping blood on the claws - waddaya think? :think:

PS. and the title of the work is: "guys! this time I'm sure I found the way out!" :razz:

Really like the tones in the skin. The blades on the hand feel like the could use some zombie attention.

they will get it - I thought I shaded the rust enough but pics definitely show I was wrong :)
what do you think about adding blood? I usuallu overdo this but here I think if might make the mini look more interesting :think:

I like the idea of blood. Then I have been playing with blood effects a lot lately since I want to really learn them. (see ME3 mini) So I may be a biased opinion.

I saw your ME model :)
the only reason there's not blood yet is such effect is veeery easy to overdo and when I add some gore - there's no turning back

IMO it misses something that catches the eye. The colors are all pretty muted, which is your style I know, but the mini doesn't 'pop'. It needs a stronger contrast, either light/dark contrast or color contrast.
The base is a bit monotone too, and this doesn't help the mini. It all blends together too much. Maybe adding some danger markings or an oil smear, blood smear on the base would break up the surface a bit?

I also have this model assembled but I don't know how I'm going to paint it yet :)

agreed - it's "plain" but pic is partly to blame:
I took model to gym this evening and showed it to guy who also saw pics - he also told me it looks much worse photographed :?
atm I am trying to paint greater contrast and give the camera another try :)
and I wanted it to blend with the base - in my imagination base is kind of some postapocalyptic universe where only robots and mutants can live and the guy on the base - well it's probably the worst scout on earth ^^
