funny indeed, but... well, maybe I am mistaken, but I still consider IP to be a painting contest. very specific of course, but a painting contest nevertheless.
and paintjob on that Ikea entry is average, I'd say.
Iron Painter 2012
Re: Iron Painter 2012
For me it is a themed painting competition, so if I were a judge it would be 50-50 points-wise. But only you have the experience to say what the judges consider more important
GD, Hussar are pure painting competitions in my opinion.

Pairings with CofC members:
Brenvs Bexley(this might be the clash of the titans!)
Viruk vs PaintMinion(this will be sequel to the clash of the titans)
Death Angel vs Nameless(the last titan stomps on Nameless)
Neolisvs Lono (son of the last titan crushes Neolis)
Re: Iron Painter 2012
Lol, love the titans comparaison.
Regarding the theme...why not going for a miniature that is on a stair pondering herself/hiself if he's going for the next step or not cause he might fall into some kind of hellish abyss

and yours was painted so much better...pae wrote:That's the one that beat me. And by a good margin.
that's the specific of the IP. I blame the scoring method (see above).
make a dio - you'll get more points for theme ("stories" get more point than single minis even if these are connected to the theme somehow), difficulty (you need to build/convert - sure points), and probably overall (bigger is usually more impressive).
one might like it or not, but that's how this contest works.
EDIT: anyone has a spare dragon's head and neck for my next entry?

I do have a whole dragon spare, though, not sure if it'll land in your mailbox soon enoughNameless wrote:EDIT: anyone has a spare dragon's head and neck for my next entry?
