But, calling Bren's work "copy of the studio job" is not justified. Here's a studio version:

sorry, but using red for dress is not copying a scheme/paintjob.
. I just think it is let down. It's just one of the things that bother me about competitions, thats all. I am speaking from an informed position though. ). I respect everybody's opinion and with other judges I might not have won, I wouldn't be upset about it. I've entered several competitions and I know how it goes, sometimes you feel you've got a big chance and you lose and sometimes it's the other way around. All I know is I painted a model in maybe not so original colors, but for me that was no reason to not paint her. To be honest I didn't make a big study of the studio paintjob, I remembered she had a red dress and I thought it fitted well. With her being asian the skin and hair is also quite obvious, but I tried to give her a warmer skintone and overall a warmer look with more golden tones. I do get the point about trying to find a more original color scheme and usually I like that, however somehow that didn't happen on this model. But after all, I did paint the model and it's not like I copy-drybrushed the original paintjob... so I don't think I need to feel guilty I won as well. But for next time, I'll try to think about a more original color scheme, I'm glad somebody reminds me to be (and stay) creative

This I do agree with. on the day the judge(s) decided they liked yours the best, that I wont dispute.
