I agree with Mahon on the cloth. Right now the shading looks good, but if you can push it a little more it will look "great".

sup - yup thats univen work - blue parts strongly highlighted (bos pole , scull) reds medicore , greens just started end mettaliks - diped in ink ..
well i would sey it could look better if lvl could be constant
BTW - got Dry pigments ( rust or turquse ?? ) or a Vethering acryls ??
if not adding some of the gun end clav would be fast end add somthing to them
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6OSyAT7 ... re_related
using thech shown in this Tutorial - but not that way - dont dip model in it just aplay on the joints end around screws , nits , ect ..
choos 1 green or rust 1 (green stands out better end according to Ork Fluf ork metal oxydyze on Green color

)

The claw hand is rusted, and I'm quite happy with the effect, but you cannot see this on this photos. I forgot to make close up photos of this, and I gave away the mini to someone.
Anyway I completly failed at highlighting pants and pink rag on the pole and I surely could use some hints how to improve in that. I think that I understand how to work with reds and greens, but I will try to highlight them more next time.
As for APJ video I'm a great fan since I started painting minis (expect his Space Marines videos). I've seen this tutorial few month before, but I really don't like turquoise color on metals. And I have different ways to create brown rust color. But anyway thanks for your "review". I always appriciate it

to be true - pink sux .... soi use it as a bacckground for bright red

but if you whana hightlight pink - you need to create shadows firs
so you mey go for Leviatan purple ink with addicion of blue paint (dark blue - )
end you will end with :
https://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff14 ... zerat1.jpg
wich will reqire rehightlighning with pink + ice blue (pink + white - panty clor)
or go more nuts
end blend in pink a lot more of colors .. wich ends :
https://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff14 ... zerat2.jpg
red / green , end so on 2x as messy end much harder to keep control over this )
or go for much more smoth blending - like on bag
https://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff14 ... iny3v3.jpg
wich is pink shaded with . purple (made on red + blue ) end re hightlighted by ice blue + turquse - thats about pink in cold colors a warm pink . well posible but it alvays ends as lingerie color ... at ends
failed at highlighting pants
- hym at this i would advice a EM method .. they gotthis on some tutorial ..
but first of all - make stiches on his but in other collor

definitely your best mini so far
now how to make it better?
take the photo, desaturate.
see what it looks like now, and what it could look like if you added some more highlights...

OK, this is small WOW. How did you make this highlights in Photoshop (or other graphic program)? I think it's dodge tool, but this would helps immensly, if I can see highlight before painting... I guess more practice is needed.

What is EM method? Hah, the stitches are my big mistake. It's a long story, but now I know that I shouldn't copy everything that I did good with other miniatures

I used an overlay layer. but that's not so very important. a quick photo taken under strong directional work usually does the job really well too, without any photoshopping
