mini no. 8/2009 was painted after 2 rounds of Iron Painter. I needed to take a break from 'serious contest painting', so I took this nice and simple Hasslefree sculpt and had great fun painting it. It was a quick, 2-evening paintjob, and I'm pretty satisfied with result I achieved in that time.
let me introduce Psycho Ray, the Demi Hunter

it's time to update my thread a bit... this is another part of goblins army for OOP Demonworld game. They are in 15mm scale, thus are pain in the a$$ while painting. fortunately, they are now finished
Sorry for pic quality. I had to ship them quickly and was in a hurry when taking pics.

hehe those look like amusing models and they do look very small

not sure i would be up for painting anything of that scale. The leader looks cute

and i like the little detail on the shields to put the unit together, some smoother transitions on the mounts but still good job phil !

yeah, sculpts itself are quite funny, I'd like to paint one in a 'standard' scale.

another one from me

following my quest to paint varied stuff, I've chosen this Gamezone mini. it spent too many months (years?) in my hall of shame anyway.
to be honest, I had no idea how to paint this elf, so I just picked different colours for different parts and had fun all along the way. you can decide if they work well together

some parts are rushed, as it was a contest entry. that's not an excuse, just an explanation

and don't ask about his pose - he looked straight, when I fixed him to the base

BTW, elf helped me to execute another part of my plan for 2009 - I managed to place second in the small Gamezone painting contest at WAMP forum

5 entries only, but hey - 2nd place is a 2nd place, right?
oh, and my ilyad barbarian has exactly 8.0 at cmon, so that's another goal acomplished. he also took 2nd place, in another competition ofcourse
So, my plans for 2009 need to be revised - I'll try to place in a bigger contest or win a small one, and I'm now looking at 8.5 at cmon

Congratulations on reaching some of your targets mate!
Maybe a bit strange but I especially like the feathers on his helmet! Metals are okay but I don't really like the blue and purple/green clothing.
