I really think there is only one way to prove Scibor doesn't pirate these heads and its really quite simple. I would like to see some photos of Scibor sculpting a human head like those bald ones. From start to finish with inbetween shots. Its easy enough to do and will stop all the press moulding talk for the heads. He would still need to work on copywrite issues though.

if someone feels like he has been robbed who does he call? does he call Artemis...? ehhhhhhhh..........

If GW feels robbed they will do something. Might I ask why you, Artemis, are on this crusade...? thought about sculpting something yourself instead of using up time complaining and accusing? no offence...
'Crusade'? I hardly think one thread on this forum comes near to qualifying as a Crusade.

Have you thought about sculpting something instead of instead of replying to me? I'll be happy to copy it and use it as my own. No offence.

You could have, as I have already corrected myself.
Sorry, your next preply wasn't showing when I posted for some reason.

Hey guys, talk and discuss but be polite to each other. Different opinions don't make us enemies.

As long as we're fair and polite, we don't need to agree with each other. :)

cheers

people like you should be politicians, they always navigate around the point with what they are saying. "look, my brain is bigger than yours."

Yes I am a paiter and not a sculptor, I do not think that GW are suffering too much from Scibor's work nor indeed the sculptor of the minis he still gets paid his rate whatever, GW is still making more than enough in profit and as they haven't taken action (as yet) then they are obviously not worried.
As a painter I have used other peoples ideas for painting miniatures and applied them to my own am I therefore doing something wrong, I think this will rumble on for a long time so i will say no more on it.

So because GW are rich it's ok to steal from them? How does that work exactly? "Your honour I broke into that guys house because I knew he wouldn't miss the few thousand I stole from him, he's a millionairre" "oh, ok then, you can go free"?

Using 'ideas' is completely different from direct copying. If you were a sculptor and I looked at your stuff and sculpted something similar myself then that's fair game, but if I just picked up bits that you'd sculpted and made a mould of them then it's not.

The obvious standout word in your post was 'yet'. Up until this minute the miniatures aren't being mass produced and are only really for sale on Ebay. However, for me personally, it doesn't matter if GW don't do anything about it. Scibor is in Poland and probably not particularly easy to sue even if they wanted to. If suing him would cost more than they think it's worth then they wouldn't bother. His biggest fear should be that they decide to sue in case the next guy does it and points to him as an example of 'letting it go'. Once a company starts letting IP slide it's hard to stop it.

No. Using images you see in media as "inspiration" is not actionable. Pressmoulding something you buy to make copies or selling photocopies of artwork you've bought or downloaded is actionable.

I agree, GW wont be overly hurt by this in the short term but, if true, it doesn't make it any less wrong.

I will add that it looks to me like a lot of the heads used came from the same mould. Whether that mould was made by Scibor from something he sculpted or a pressmould from GW product is not something I can comment on because I have none of the GW miniatures to compare the pictures to.

Edit: Arty got there first

I have no idea if it's a language barrier but you don't seem to be replying to anything I actually said? All I got from your post was that my brain is bigger than yours, you think I'm a politician and you replied less than me to this thread. I suppose I learned 1 new thing at least.
