I've been spending a couple evenings working on this model, i wanted to limit the palette somewhat, im pretty happy with how things have turned out so far, im just working on some sort of freehand work on the tiles of the base and the model itself. I think with the base im going to put on some writing of some sort, on the model, i might actually do a similar sort of scripture/writing on one of her legs and a tattoo on the shoulder/arm. Oh i haven't glued the model onto the base yet, which is why it looks as if it is floating, i just put it on to see how the colours looked, will fit it on properly once i've done the freehand work.
Loving the blending and shading of the skin, looking forward to seeing what you come up with on the freehand
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again
when I saw the marine I thought "wow, excellent metallic armor", but then I recalled that it's your Kantor who's painted in glossy non-metallic armor. excellent stuff. great blending and stunning style
I love the color scheme, I love the light / shadow work but the mini looks blurry to me, I'm missing some smalll and sharp details (maybe face, maybe hair) to mak it masterpiece. I agree with Maru and his idea about shadow under figure. Will look forward to see more of this
I will have a think about that, i think adding a shadow under the model would definately make it seem better. I also agree with you about the hair perhaps being a little more sharper and picking up a bit more light at the top, i think it would stand out much more, like i did with the shine on the sword. Thanks for the tips guys !
