IMHO the sculpt looks good
I like the eyes :) but personally I like when the goblins and other fantastic species have different color of skin than humans. It doesn't have to be green, but some changes are welcome.

and with new tradition on CofC ;) I repeat myself a few times now because probably I will not have time to hurry back here

Beacuse I think that the sculpture looks good.
Quite a good sculpt.

Nameless I do not expect all people like my sculptures :) it is imposible.
I also think that people may criticize what they wantand that in all my sculptures there are thing who may be better.
This time I was only amused that You wrote :
"not sure about this one. the sculpt is actually quite good, but something's missing here..."
So if You do not know what is wrong You just may wait few minutes , think and write something essential ;)
It is only my opinion but I think profesional miniatures critic to be reliable should know what is wrong befor write that "something is wrong" :)
Few post later You wrote that meybe paintin is wrong , so meybe not all thoughts are worthy to be published.
I am realy full of humility and I know that my workshop is far from perfection.
I do not like You feel wounded by my notice that You trate our hobby too seriously, but Your reaction is rather proof that as for person who very easy judge, You can not receive even small suggestion.
Peace and love

and now you amused me
who told you I'm a professional mini critic? Heck, I'm not even a sculptor. I'm just a hobbyist. As such, I will take a liberty to be unable to define reasons why I don't like a sculpt. By the way, have you seen that I wrote that I actually like your new bust?
The problem is that you have difficulties to accept criticism. Your usual reaction to a detailed remark is jumping in and saying something like: "it's my vision and my sculpt", which leaves no room for a discussion. So, why even bother to explain my point of view?
Few pages earlier I commented on some bases with a short: "I like the second one". Why haven't you asked then for a detailed opinion?

As for my humble person - sorry to disappoint you, I'm don't feel nor wounded, nor offended by your statement. I'm just curious what is so serious about my thinking about your work. You've still not explained that to me, as you preferred to write a long post about something completely different. And before you repeat any bullshit about me accepting criticism, please check all my threads - both finished and wip minis :)
so meybe not all thoughts are worthy to be published
so true Scibor, so true...

Ścibor, I think that Nameless' comment is good. For this is why we talk.
Nameless usually knows what will be better choice ;) but this time he only sugggest that there is something missing.
And when I wrote it now I see that is good suggestion. You know, this is good sculpture, but ...
... but if you have interesting idea for paintwork ... The sculpt is interresting now, but when it will be painted for the 20th time, it could become boring. You know, it is a demanding sculpt, demanding of creativity and big imagination to make it something interesting when you are the 20th painter.
But I like it because if I was to paint it I am ablr to add details by myself and make my own mood without relying only on your sculpt :)
But probably for most of people it would be better if your goblin had some more attractions.

I think Nameless is one of the most insightful and constructive people here. And he's right - we're only hobbyists and not qualified hobbyists, which is not a reason for us to feel unauthorized to comment. I think talking about the hobby is why we're all here, and it's our right to like some things and some less.

I know that sometimes it's not the most enjoyable thing to be criticized, but it happens to all of us. And you know, creative arts are a subjective thing - sometimes it's all about personal preference, mood, atmosphere, etc. Some things you can't nail...
And does it mean we shouldn't express our opinions? Even if we're not sure why we do or don't like some things?

I think Nameless' comment made some of us think if there is something missing or wrong about the sculpt or not. Sometimes such posts are a good way to encourage discussion. And that is appreciated.

I like this sculpt. I like the paintjob, even though I think green would be a better marketing choice. I would prefer some more contrast, but it's a comment about the paintjob and not the sculpt.

Wow, so serious discussion! Should I be afraid? Oh no, this is why we are here on this forum and I think it's good to read all of yours comments. Keep on sculpting, keep on posting, stop fighting. Peace, Love, Unity :)

Surprisingly I`m with Scibor this time :D
For me this statement proves clearly that Nameless takes things too seriously:
Nameless wrote: why? because I'm trying to find out what I don't like about your sculpture?
Remind me next time to sing a praise song about your every work.
That`s so childish.....
And I agree that for some time your comments have stopped to be constructive. ANd no, not because so many of them are negative....

end of OT :D .

Surprisingly I`m with Scibor this time
*using my best New Orleans accent - sorry, just watched the benjamin button movie (crappy stuff btw, don't waste your time on it)*

that's all right Przemas, I'm still winning 2:1. It's good you showed up, temperature of our discussion has been dangerously decreasing, we could have even go back on-topic... luckily you gave us some fuel to continue.
So, people, give Przemas some entertainment, place your bets, cast your votes... whom do you support, tell us all...add some remarks to spice it up... oh, and don't forget to EOT...
