Reaper divided their gallery of painted minis into "showcase" (minis painted by Reaper Painting Crew) and "inspiration". Anyone can upload a pic in the latter. Go ahead and do it, if you have some Reaper minis painted, want eternal fame and perhaps find your way to the "showcase", if Reaper folks like it
I'm not all that crazy about the new IG over at Reaper. I mean it's great that it means more painted figures will show up in their gallery. I'm just worried about the quality control. So far most of the stuff has been pretty good, but there are a few that aren't.
Not that they really care about my input though, even though I've painted a few models for them.
I don't think there is any kind of quality check for the inspiration gallery. they just want maximum of painted models.
IMO it's a good idea. Reaper Painting Crew Showcase gallery is clearly separated. here I'm not looking for quality, but inspiration for painting own minis, cool colour schemese etc. YMMV.
But the IG is getting a bunch of things in it from people who are on the paint crew, which I think can be confusing. Also, things that are in the showcase gallery get thrown into the IG as well.
And I'm not even sure how the SG works anymore. I have a total of 4 things in SG, but 11 in IG. 10 of the 11 pieces of mine in the IG actually were painted for Reaper (and I'm pretty sure they have all of them in their possession). The other is one I painted for the first ReaperCon painting contest. Not sure how that ended up there. I haven't uploaded anything myself.
Anyway, there's no point in my snarking about it over here. It's something I really should bring up with Anne and John, but I'm not sure I can be bothered. :-/
yeah, it seems like an error, nothing else. not all details work perfectly as of now. I didn't read it thoroughly, but there is a special thread at Reaper forums, ppl found a lot of bugs already and these (I think) were corrected.

Oh, it's not so much as without my permission, since they do own most of them. I think they threw everything from the old painted gallery into the IG at first, but they haven't re-populated the new SG with all that they own. It seems to be just a selection of the minis that have been painted for them at this point. I took a look at other painters, and they don't have much in the SG, and I know they've done more than is listed.
well, they used Pae's pics already, so I don't think there is a problem with using them without permission.
the problem is they are in two different galleries, whereas they should all be in the showcase part, as Pae is (was?) a member of their painting crew.his
