Well after a long time of not showing much, i managed to paint a load of tyranids for my friend and a chaos dreadnought for a competition over on heresy. This was all done whilst i've been over in Abu Dhabi, apologies for the poor photo quality i had some trouble with the lighting.

I had fun with this model for the most part, getting the reds to be super smooth was the hardest part and especially on the arms, but i wanted to also do some sort of freehand work to make it a bit more interesting. Plus i needed the practice on it.

So my goal for this year is to complete at least 2 of my many armies/collections of models i have. Then i'll concentrate on more display pieces, but during this summer i might paint something up for SOD and GDUK.

The dreadnought is pretty cool, especially the golds. But I've just noticed the fat guy that I missed previously. WOW, that's different! and you did great job on the skin. I believe the model suffers from overexposed photos, or maybe flash reflecting in shadows? Shading on the trousers looks bolder than on the muscles and thus more visually interesting. But the muscles are really good job! Will we get to see a good photo of this model?

Nice job on the dreadnaught. Cool freehands, although I'm not very fond of the "stars" you've painted. They are too mellow :)
But the primary goal - super-smooth reds - is achieved for sure.

Really nice Arctica. As always jealous of your nmm gold. The only thing I can put any feed back on is the ground part of the base needs a little pick me up. Though that may be more do to the picture then any thing.
If it wasn't for the gutter my mind would be homeless.

Thanks for the feedback guys, i am having much difficulty with photos at the moment since i am only using one lamp and a camera i am not familiar with so i will try and take some decent photos when im back in the UK in April.

Im happy with the fatguy but i know for sure the photos are really rubbish on him. I wanted him to be something completely different than what im used to. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone helps improvement i think. I want to add some small details to his base to improve it and lighten the colour alot more, adding a small bottle or something might be the trick.

The dreadnought was fun to paint but i was having some difficulties with the red and getting it to be smooth because my scab red colour had almost dried out and was becoming very gritty, even after mixing it lots. What i wanted to achieve with the model was a chance to do more freehand work as to practice that. I still have a second dreadnought and a landraider for my world eaters so i can improve on them. As for the base i think this one is much better, but i wanted to add some foliage to the base too, some brown or sandy coloured long grass to show a sort of dying world, but i couldn't find anything suitable here yet. Still at least i am putting in some more effort for the base now.

Ok so as my first real commission piece, i was asked to paint Pedro Kantor in my usual bright and colourful style. I made a start last night but im not too happy with the results at the moment i think i need more colour to the armour itself make it alot brighter, whilst maintaining the bright contrast.
