hehe cheers for all the support everyone has given.
I did get alot of helpful tips from lots of painters on the day, even had a nice long chat with Kornel and Joe about the entry and what i could do to improve etc. I think next year i need to concentrate more on the colours and strengths which i favour but also to stick more with the whole fluff and background behind the models. I know i need to be smoother on some of my blends still but i think that comes with more practice.

Re: Arctica's WiPs
Really nice work the armour is great
Re: Arctica's WiPs
And now for something completely different. I've been working on this mini for about 3 days and it was painted for ME3 . Was something quite different than what im used to, with lots of non-power armour surfaces etc. It was a first for me to paint so much skin etc, normally it's just blue power armour
. But i had real fun with the model and i think i did quite a nice faded tattoo on the leg and actually on the torso stretching down to her hip on the opposite side of the model. I think i might need to look more at the snow stuff i've been using, like mixing it with baking soda and water before i apply it, but it looks nice like it's just melting.

and in my other time i've been doing a bit of a larger scale model, this thing is about 1.5 times the size of a marine dreadnought and very well detailed from Fire Industries. The sculpt is so good and well detailed and all the parts fit well together, i did have a couple areas where i had to wash and redo the primer because i'd not been vigorous enough with cleaning off the resin chemical so the primer actually flaked and cracked off (mostly around the nooks and cranny's of the model). Still so far im happy with my initial progress, need to smooth out the skin a bit more, but i want to keep his clothing black, so im contemplating either using brown/blue as a highlight or as Nameless had recommended to me, to take it to almost a white highlight similar to Bren's Freya model.

Seriously, ninja goblins are awesome, now i just need a pirate goblin too or better yet a ninja-pirate goblin. Comments are always welcome
also i managed to do some table top standard world eaters and goblins while i was away in AD.

Re: Arctica's WiPs
I love you took a different model than you usually do for ME3! The gems are the best part for me (saw them in the other pics by Marek better then here!
) and I also very much like the subtle tattoes.
The skin of the Goblin Ninja looks promissing although a bit bright and light.

Re: Arctica's WiPs
the skin looks fine to me. Very promising could use some glazing but I know this is not done yet
Keep it up
Re: Arctica's WiPs
looks excellent so far. with such strong highlights the model can't be anythiung but eyecatching now.
you're right, some decolorations can improve the effect even further!
and it's so cool to see anything else than space marines from you! the girl is very nice, especially the shield and sword.
very decent addition to the ME3 gallery!

Both of them are looking quite cool so far Arctica, especially that goblin model. I am VERY impressed with the colours and tones on that.
Re: Arctica's WiPs
Thanks for the nice comments
. While i was away in Abu Dhabi i did actually get some painting done, these are only to tabletop standard and is more a continuation of a squad i started a while ago.

On another note, this last week after i finished my ME3 model i wanted to keep going with the whole painting skin thing so i painted a model that was away from my usual power armour fetish. Anyway have a look-see

the base is a little plain but my main purpose with this model was to practice painting skin and he had plenty of it lol.
