Nice simple setup, I like it.

What power are your bulbs?
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again

Compact fluorescent powersaver bulbs, white light.

Nice diffused white light, only downside to them is that they need several minutes to "warm up" before I can start using them.

I noticed that with all out flourescent bulbs, have you looked at white LED bulbs, they are very low energy and give off quite a nice clean light :D

I always thought LEDs didn't have the intensity of light to be suitable for this application.

I like the setup corvus, very cool, i need to do something like this.

This setup, how cool it might look, didn't really work that well. Because of the positioning of the lights (I wasn't able to bring them any closer) the miniature was a bit too far away from the camera, so the pictures looked fuzzy. I also had some problems with a strange orange hue in my pictures. I think this was caused by the reflection of the light on the furniture, and also by the backdrop which was printed with a laser printer...

So I decided to have one light less, and attach the two other to the side of the photo setup, so I could bring the figure closer to the camera.

I also covered the inside of the glass box (which is an old aquarium) with tin foil to get more light from all directions and to avoid the reflection of the wood. This made a huge difference!

There have been a lot of advances in LED luminosity andthe ultra bright white LED's are suitable for Aquaruim owners, I looked into it as I was thinking of changing our fish tank lights when I loved in London.

Nice idea about the foil and a single light, it could save me a fair bit of money with our photobooth setup

Big fan! A beautiful mini and a paintjob that does it justice.
The weathering of the clothes really connects the mini with the base. The glass bulb (or whatever he's holding) is magnificent.
I'm not entirely decided on the skintone yet, maybe it's a little too much like the clothing for my taste. but there are enough colour accents to make up for the big parts of green/grey.
