I agree with Phil.
I think the branches need some relief (sp?) and maybe some side branches.

Yeah the branches need (more) texture. The rocks also could use some sharper edges, except there where the little waterfall would pass through.

Thats good progress, what materials are you using to produce the rock face? I agree with what has been said but saying that i think leaving the tree etc in your original post about this piece was a good idea, i think it adds the extra atmosphere to the model. Btw Dark saw your pieces at Salute, great stuff its surprising how different photos can make a model appear.

Now that I like, quite a bit actually. The idea of doing it in a darker monochromatic look would make this layout look incredible. Depending on how you did it, it could look somber and sad or very, very creepy.

thanks arctica! shame i didnt get to talk to u, i usually build the surface up with plasticard then cover it with milliput then use a piece of slate to push the texture in

alrite guys and gals

am rethinking gollum for now, iv removed the tree and am rethinking the cliff face am not entirely sold on it, i was hoping just to take slot out of the cliff and erase the rest but its not working, it needs to wrap around the base a little more so thats on hold at the moment

anyways, at the moment am waiting on some new wooden bases, so the pieces i wanted to work on i cant (i like to have a scene and atmosphere all set out before i start painting a mini) so instead of taking a break i decided to revisit an old project (squigball) and reinvent it as GrottyRaces or Squiggy races, idk!

here is the original

its now a diorama, i wanted a dick dastardly scene, i need to a grot jockey flying off his stead and add another squig coming over the brow. i may add an accomplice over the other side. the squig also needs the bottom of his mouth cut away and resculpted so its open in surprise and ill prob increase the size of the eyes so i can make him less menacing and more cartoony

let me know wot u think!

both are very interesting (and I mean it! :D) but I think I like the second one more - it's pretty hilarious!
although it would be wise to hide the goblin behind some bush - I think squig would rather assault the gobbo than rush straight into the trap
