Well the leather is done, but once more I must applogize for my picture taking ability. New camera is my excuse, though how long it will last I don't know. Anyways, here's the best of the bunch I could get.

RE: WIP Valten MKI
at this stage I really like this bastard
the leather is a bit shiny but imo it's fault of camera or wash -> this effect will go away after varnishing; and the skin is smooth and natural - good job!

The skin is great! Definitly improved there!
Demi's right about the shine but matt varnish should take care of that!

Thanks, but unfortunately that skin tone is the camera's work not mine. Shame because it does look good.
The true skin tone is lighter and more elf looking. Not bad though.
I have done his clothes now, the jacket is a mid-tone grey and the trousers are a blue-grey colour. Pics will be forthcoming in the next few days.
But in the meantime I must as for assitance once more, the hair. Valten has a nice 'straw' or yellow hair (best if you look at his pic to see what I mean) but I have no idea on what to do it in. I've had problems in doing blonde hair in the past and it always looks too yellow, so any help will be devoured.
Oh and about varnish, I've never varnished any of my models since an inccident with a High Elf Chariot (bad painting and bad varnishing). So I've no idea on the ways of doing it - this was a matt spray varnish - but I've heard gloss or matt work best and not to spray but paint.
Help again please. And one last thing - varnish brands, any good/bad to use? (Uk preferabely).

hmmm... I don't like painting blonde too
but maybe You could try sth like this: start with snakebite leather, then highlight it wits some yellow and on the end strong bleached bone / skull white drybrush; when it's dry put a layer of wateerd down yellow wash on it... maybe this is what You want to achieve?
and about varnish - I use matt gw but next I'll try will be "modelmaster" - I've heard it is great

Once more an update. The actaual Valten part of the model is now finished, bar varnish of cours, all that remains in the beastman beneath his boot and his base.
I've tried with his hair, and it looks ok but still quite yellow. But not as bad as it does on the pics, this is now my photo editing skills - they aren't exactly good.
The same goes with the flesh, it's quite a bit lighter than the pictures show (think elf flesh and slightly lighter). I will of course try to remedy these quirks as I think it does spoil the picture and model ever so slightly.
Now, the current Valten MKI looks like this -

Thanks but the hair is lighter, infact this pic should show it better (a slight different edit). The flesh and hair look more like they do IRL but still not quite.
