Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
This is looking great so far, i would comment that i think the ear piece highlights appear to be the brightest part, perhaps increasing the highlights ontop of the hat area would be a little more realistic? to show respective light intensity hitting the curved top of his hat.
Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
Thanx for your comments. I think you're right, I have to learn many things about painting. I was trying to get effect of used and dirty brushed leather (colour difference between light and dark areas) and added lights to some raised areas. I will keep your advices in mind and try to apply them on next JMD pilot.
Now I feel the cap is almost finished with that goggles, shield, ear protectors and so... In next step I will paint his shirt.

if the light is from front of the mini end from above so rthe brightest part would be just above "I" on the hat - not on the wars . especialy that ears are lighted stright above ( so top of hat would catch more light)

i like your work on the hat. waiting for more.
the cool things so far are:
- it's not blue
- it's not even green...
- you used many colors for the hat, which is brown - but so full of different kinds of brown to build lights and shadows.

I'm trying my new set of Rackham paints and you are right - I used lot of different colours (brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue). But next step will be blue all over, so I think this step is the last you likemahon wrote:i like your work on the hat. waiting for more.

Small progress on Melvin - finished t-shirt with stripes and that small amulet. Next (and last I hope
)) step is his face. The bad news is that my camera is going to hell, I think. Today I took about 50 shots of Melvin and all of them bad - unsharp, weird colours ... And my neighbour is with his camera on vacation
