Cat vs. cactus... fair analogy I think!

This was a commission and the dude wanted me to paint in my typical style. So I did. I tried to put extra effort into the face. Here he is...

this is your style, no doubt :)
fairly smooth, though not brave enough with contrasts.
fairly, because some transitions (back of the olive cloth) are quite abrupt.
not enough, cause there are place with really nice contrast (front of the olive cloth).

face is really good, especially the eyes. I always have problems with eyes, so I do like what you did here. on the other hand I don't like these strong highlights on his head, it looks like he has a square skull.

Where is this mini from - RBG?

Fair points! The mini is from Steve Buddles old Spyglass/Eolith 28mm range. I know he sold it off to someone now that he is at GW but I don't know whom.

great job on the face. especially his sharp eyes.
the paintjob reminds me of Steve Buddle's style or maybe also Tim Cook's. And it means I like it :)

The extra effort on the face really paid off very cool

pretty awesome!

But the good points of the face: crisp detailing, nice contrast, is lacking on the rest of the figure. But hey if it's a commission piece then it's all up to where to spend your budget (time) :)

Thanks for the points folks. I painted up this little guy as a fall back piece for the Red Box Games comp over on WAMP. Now I am not sure if I'll get to paint another entry up in time or not. Anyway, I tried something new on the goblin flesh, I also tried to glaze in some regular flesh tone stuff on the nose. Not sure if it worked or not.

this guy looks really good, especially because it is really tiny! Great work!
