Hi there ^^ What's up?
I managed to brush something ;)

Here is Leona Lobo painted for Kabuki Models.
I will be happy to see some comments, and I will gladly answer your questions :)

Now I have a Tau on my workbench, and I hope to try the hairspray paint chips technique, but my hairspray didn't work well. It is too good or too strong... Everything sticks to it like to primer. I will check a cheap alternative instead, it may work better.

Or do you have any other experiences or advice?

Ah, I started a blog, and maybe I manage to collect some useful contents there :)

Enjoy :)

Skintone is great, and the camo is awesome! Best I've seen in a while. Battle damage on the leg armour looks stunning too. Is that sculpted or painted on?
I don't like the colours you've chosen for the alien structure though. The blue doesn't work for me. I'd probably had chosen something more classical like dark green.

It's hard to critique your work but I do think that it would look even better if the setting/mood were a bit darker. That's just personal preference and maybe nitpicking though.

EDIT: The best experience I still have with chipping armour/weathered surfaces is by using masking fluid + a small piece of (artist) sponge. Apply a weathered colour/base first. Then apply masking fluid, paint the armour as if you paint without battle damange and when you're finished take a small soft piece of an eraser and gently wipe of the masking fluid. A bit like this: https://haekel.free.fr/spip.php?article81

I think hairspray is too inaccurate for smaller models? Might be best to save for vehicles and large scale models...

EDIT n°4: Painkillers + typing ... bad bad bad :blackeye:

Wow Thanks ToMaz, I thought that green will be too boring, but now when you provoked this idea again, I think it could look really good. But you see, I didn't believe in it. I hope I will be smarter the next time :bonk: or I will talk about it with you guys.

Thanks for the suggestion and great tutorial about masking fluid - I made it a few time ago.
Thanks for reminding me :)

Cheers

boobs :WOW:

sorry again
love the camo, love the metal, love the feel.
blue for the alien was a good choice imo, very ... alienish. you know, something like in alien movie. but, smoothness on this part is sub-standard.
your skintones are getting quite unlive (sorry for weird word, wanted to avoid saying 'dead'). technically it is great, it's smooth and so on, but it also looks like owners are pretty bloodless for some time :)

anyway, it's always a great pleasure to see your work. hope we'll get that tau pics soon... and then some more pics :)

Well well... overall great mini.

Pants are very nice painted, maybe highlight on top of the monster (top part of mini) is too much highlighted, or maybe it is just me or picture.
