Re: Mantic Games news
idk if MAntic are aiming too low. Sometimes I am shocked about how people accept really really low quality sculpts - and mantic really is on the very low end of miniature quality. It's disgusting.

Yeah maybe they think so but in my opinion they're wrong.NAVARRO wrote:Maybe they are not inclined to glue the company to high standarts of painting... and just average gamming TTpainting is just fine for them.
A figure painted by someone like Angel Giraldez will make a line sell a lot better, even if they are gaming miniatures.

yeah, but like i said, when it comes to sculpting their vision of a skull is a blob of putty with 3 holes in it, so the painting doesnt fix it.Corvus wrote:Yeah maybe they think so but in my opinion they're wrong.NAVARRO wrote:Maybe they are not inclined to glue the company to high standarts of painting... and just average gamming TTpainting is just fine for them.

We should paint up their skulls as bowling balls.Trovarion wrote:yeah, but like i said, when it comes to sculpting their vision of a skull is a blob of putty with 3 holes in it, so the painting doesnt fix it.

Well It may not be what we want and for us in particular ( painters) its a mistake to not try to make the best minis and present them in the best way possible... but they choosed not to and they are releasing incredible quantities of plastic armies... as we know its a huge investment and unless they are digging themselves a hole they are producing very fast.
Also they just prototyped a Warhammer Quest wannabee and will sell it soon... also rumours of going to make a scifi line... They must be doing something right... right?

they're not digging a hole, trust meNAVARRO wrote:as we know its a huge investment and unless they are digging themselves a hole they are producing very fast.
with the money made with their first elves, they funded the development of the undead, with money made from these, they developed their dwarves and the game. If you don't know already their game is free, so it's a vehicle to sell more of their plastics.
I agree Mantic is no company for painters... but on the other hand they're doing a fantastic job trying to win GW customers. I think they're the best alternative on the market and their prices are very fair.
