what are those yellow lines supposed to be? I'd blend them with reds more. Some glazing with red, perhaps?
they were blended but the client wanted the lines-thingies to be much more strinikng

mahon wrote:I totally don't get the yellow lines. Are they supposed to be cracks in thered armor? Like lava or something?

The bloodletter looks flat to me, but it may be a matter of personal taste that I like more depth to models. I think it deserves more highlights.
which color you think should be used for highlighting? if I add white to the skintone mixture the model will become pinkish, if I add yellow - it will look orange-ish  which is better?

@CUKIERas: thanks for the tip! tdo you think a drop of white on the "crossroads" whould do the job?

ok, so the lines were not your choice...

as for the highlights - I'd go for muted natural yellows - like ochre or something like this. and you can't go wrong with sand colors or bleached bone - they don't desaturate your colors too much but are good for highlighting.

Alternatively you can highlight the mini quite much, but then glaze the whole bloodletter with red glossy ink - the color will be rich and saturated, with highlights still visible through it.

Hey thats very cool, i like the whole ensemble. The metallics are nicely done and the colours work well together, i think my only extra suggestion is the gold on the wings at the top could be neatened up a bit but overall i do like the mini. :D i particularly like the golden dragon behind the king guy, its very nice.

Very cool, I like how each of the bearers are a different color and look but not taking away any. only thing I can add is that the red beard seems flat. It looks bright enough but doesn't pop like some of the others beards and hair does.
If it wasn't for the gutter my mind would be homeless.

yeah, but you know me - I like to be flattered so much

the dragon is part of king's crown actually - I also like the way it turned out: much better than I expected :D

it's once again the same problem: I highlighted beards and flesh too slightly and after these elements were glazed and varnished (it's gaming piece so it must be protected against battle damages) some highlights simply disappeared  it's nothing impossible to fix though - it's a wip after all :D
I think silver elements lost some metallic "feel" because of the varnish
hope to finish the piece shortly so new pic will be presented - this time maybe with some background

you know my opinion, but I'll repeat it anyway :)
fine paintjob, nice variation from what we usually see on your pics :)
As I told you, I'd add more blue here and there. As it is for now, 'blue' dwarf in the back ruins the harmony of the whole piece.
Oh, and perhaps some washes for metallics, especially where runes or reliefs are? just to pick details?

Very nice, especially as this is meant to be played with.
If you gonna fix some parts, pay some more attention to their beards.
Metallics may need some final highlights.

One question: are you going to overpaint some parts which were already covered with varnish?
I thought that paint won't stick to such surface.
