Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
My progress from last days - some playing with styrodur and modelling knife, some drilling and glueing to give this display base some shape. Today I was playing with PVA glue, small slate and rocks, used some small tubing and several pieces from my bitz collection. When the glue dries, I'll remove unglued basing 'dirt' and try to undercoat whole thing.

Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
oh, nice. would that be the first non-fantasy thing you showed us?
Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
fantastic base. you haven't made such complex bases before, have you?
or is it just my memory playing tricks on me?

Great base! Don't forget to put some protective layer over the blue foam or it will melt when you undercoat it.
Re: What's in progress by Dark Tower
When you say that, I think you're right. Never realized that before. My only non-fantasy miniatures I've painted were those lesson-minis, which I used to learn painting techniques (some Space Marines, some Cadia guardsmen and those few speedpainted Steel Legion guardsmen for my small W40K army). But I think it was long before I joined this forum.Nameless wrote:oh, nice. would that be the first non-fantasy thing you showed us?
And I think this is my first time making this complex base. Biggest I ever did was that dwarwish pub in PF2009. I know that sprayed styrodur will melt, so I am planning some brush-work before spraying, but thanx for advice.

My first today's progress on Korps-Dio base. Yesterday I've started with ground and all that ruins on it, today my primary focus was the destroyed-but-still-standing wall. Just first try, it's all heavy W.I.P.

Looking good the detail is really nice, my only remark would be the stuff coming out of the drain is a bit too similar to everything else, maybe glaze it a bit with some purple to make it a bit more "sewage-like" and liquid look.

I think the stuff coming out of the sewer is not painted yet?
