Beautiful work as usual Ana.
Detail is excellent and all around wonderful piece, but for some reason, I am not as awed by this piece as I have been in the past. I do not know if it is the subject matter (but I love dragons of any shape and style) or the nature of the conversion itself, not being done by you, or what.
As I said it is a wonderful piece but just something about it does not hit me and knock me down like other pieces of yours.
Not meant to critisism of your work and I know I have not be around very much, so please take my discussion with a very tiny grain of salt!
looking forward to your next piece!

Okay, now Miranda is wonderful piece. I love the detail in the dress and the simulation of the embriodery design. Yep, this is to me another Ana drooling special!
Thanks to you both!

Arf. You made me hope right there for some minutes (even though it was too soon, following your mail).mahon wrote:some new stuff's already in the gallery, but not yet posted to the English part of the forum with comments
Sigh, sniff...
Re: What's new from Ana?
@Dragyn - then there's the Rhasva Sentinel too
@Elayne - not really. pictures for Euphoria Miniatures got the highest priority now, as they needed them for the printers

if the rock is suppsoed to be a refractive lighting effect i thinkits to even all ove the rock there is no perspective fro where the light is coming from also the eyes are a little muchAna wrote:Hurrah!
Mahon made a lot of good work and so I can show my dragon to you. It was a commission but I also struggled to make it ready for the German GD so that I wouldn't go there with one model only.
I managed to take a more distant look and different perspective on this model after all this time since August, and can admit now that I enjoyed painting this model and I quite like it. I am also proud of it because it became a GD finalist in Germany and was appreciated by such jury
If anyone cannot see any consistence in the colour scheme, I can explain that the dragon is divided in two surfaces of colour: One is what is lit from below and one is what is going on on the upper parts of the model. The bottom is painted in warm colours and cool colors from above. I wanted to radiate the aura of the base to the model, to present the dragon as a child of the element of fire. The upper part is in more evening tones.
Conversion is not mine, so I can't tell much about it. I received the model already converted and this made painting many parts of this model a real pain... but it doesn't have to justify the weaknesses on the model. They are caused more by the timeframe I had to make it ready for the contest.

Full photos are very big, so click on the photos above to see full versions. Thanks!
I will appreciate your comments and criticism as always
you said you were constrained on time so its understandable
the yellows blending isn't perfect
but i really love the armor on the dragon
your blending skills are immense but it looks like you didn't have enough time on this dragon
love your work its one of the reasons i joined this site amougnst all the other great painters. and your far better then me at painting
i also wish i could take pictures better
but great idea and the lighting on the underside of the dragon looks good

Thanks

I painted 3 ladies recently! And spent some good time painting them
And now I am painting a Lord of Tzeentch - very enjoyable paintwork.
But I am curious what do you think about my last works.
The first one is Miranda for Miranda (the dress had to be like the original Miranda's dress, and idea for the base was inspired by the customer, but check it out yourself - it was a really pretty idea - maybe it can be useful for you too)

The second mini was painted for Euphoria Miniatures, and I tried to make the same mood as on the artwork:

The third lady was a very difficult work and I painted her for a very long time, but the mini was very important for the customer and for me too. This is Elayne - queen and sorceress of cristal. This is a conversion from the Limited Edition Sorceress from Darksword Miniatures. I had to raise her because she levitates and add a staff with cristal on top, and two butterflies - her familiars. I hope she has the right atmosphere.

I also used to play RPG and I have a miniature representing my character, so I understand how important it is to find a good representation for your character. I still haven't painted my miniature, but hope this one does justice to the original character.

Re: What's new from Ana?
Great works, the freehand on the dresses are amazing!
Re: What's new from Ana?
I think they look good, im not too sure on the face of the euphoria model, looks a bit unsymmetrical but that might be the sculpt. The big gun she has is done really well and the different shades of grey really give the model some nice detail. The dress on both the other models are done really well. Those freehand patterns must have taken ages to paint, they are so detailed and neat. Well done
