Group photo this weekend :) for now i'm just working on my warcaster for the league epic Haley. Not done much but i think i'm taking too long on her at the moment, still i want it to be good.

Well i've put more colour on eHaley, but now i want to do some freehand but i'm not too sure what i should do on the model. Wanted to see what others thought etc, apologies for the blurry picture as i took it quickly just to post up for ideas.

what I wanted to say is that I never liked the look of Cygnar minis too much. yours look fantastic! your smooth painting + freehands + different color scheme = good combo!

now please don't tell me these photos don't show metallics well.
I like the color you got on those metallics and would be disappointed to know it's just the photo....

Actually the photos show off the metallics pretty well, they are very close to what is seen, but the yellow hue from the lamp i used does give it a slight tinge of yellow.

-boltgun metal base colour ontop of black primer
-slop on some badab black wash
-highlight with a mix of badab black and boltgun metal
-increase highlights with boltgun metal
-wash lightly with hawk turquoise
-wash lightly with bestial brown
-touch up lighter areas with a mix of badab black and boltgun metal
-add mithril silver for final highlights :)

if i don't want such an oxidised/weathered feel like on the socket joints and the back boiler plate, i skip the turquoise and bestial brown washes and go straight to boltgun metal and mithril silver.

Oh and if i want it a bit darker, i shade using just badab black.
