Well, di'nt paint this week, but managed to get a few things done.
Considering GW didn't had the kindness to release Salamanders insignia for the drop pod, I had to make one, so here is the result:

Insignia isn't glued yet (thus not being centered/painted) and please don't pay attention to the ugly mistakes you can see where the parts are glued together, this is the first vehicule I made since ages and made of course some newb mistakes :banghead:

The question I have right now is : Do I put the insignia like it is right now or do I simple put the Salamander head to have something of an equal size of the Imperial Eagles that come with the pod?

I like them both, but I think that I'll prolly go for the head only version to stay in something similar in terms of size with the Imperial Eagle

And for those who wonder where the insignia is coming from here is the answer:

I would choose only the salamander's head, it is smaller and fits better.

Worked again a little bit on the pod on the pod. Managed to get everything built and doors still working :)

Still a lots of things to do (nothing is glued right now to let me finish the details). Battle damages is going to be done on the pod and a little bit of pigments aswell. White stripes on the black parts are cause I remove the tamiya rubber, they're gonna be full black.

Took some other pics with the different insignia to get some feedback cause I like both insignia but really can't choose between them.

They all look pretty good but the imperial eagles are still the best ones for me as they don't overwhelm the surface of the model.

Well I'm gonna use the Imperial Eagles, though, there are 5 doors and only 4 in the box :) So since there are other symbols available for other chapters I wanted to have one for mine aswell :)
Gonna try to get smaller versions then if those ones are too big :)

@arctica & nameless - yep, it's not so much about the size of the salamander heads but the thickness. the eagle is much thinner and so it looks better

Topic has been on hgold for nearly a month, though, thanks to the heat and a little bit of procrastination, I didn't managed to paint anything since yesterday.

Nearly finished the pod, missing a few things here and there and I'll be able to work on the battle damage on it.

Thanks,

Will try to post pics that aren't blurry. Took those ones with the mobile just before going to work, thus pics not being that great. Also, model isn't completely finished so it's kinda a wip ^^
