that's a lot of leaves... where did they come from? from that trunk?
they make the scene slightly unbelievable to me. I'd use plain rock, some grass or snow for this base.

 Nameless is right. These leaves don't make much sense there. they look as a kind of gap filler there. there's nothing to tie them to the general color scheme of the scene. maybe if the tree was in similar colors?

the dead trunk doesn't seem like it could be the source of all those leaves though.
maybe just cover them with snow and you have a nice winter-colored scene.

I think adding some other colour to the tree trunk, dull colours would help differentiate the model and the base some more as i find my eye is more drawn to the tree trunk as it's brighter or it could just be my fuzzy eyes :D

I like the leaves, looks like the forestgrounds in fall around here. But you should have made the rest of the base in an autumn style too. Use warm and cool browns, greens, reds etc... add some leaves to that tree and so on.

What the others suggested might suit the fig itself more. a snowy cold base fits more with the colours you used on the mage.

The mage looks good. Painting looks smooth, but the pic is a bit on the small side to give some thorough critique IMO.

I like the leaves too and fully agree with ToMaZ - the base should be painted autumn style (browns, reds).

ok i have reworked the base to a more autumn style (didnt know what to use for snow  ) still have to work the leaves a bit more and add a few grass clumps as for the mini i was going to push the highlights (on top of sleeve and were hand is holding staff) a little more :?: any thoughts on the changes would be appreciated
thanks jason
